As you may have noticed, there has been a lot of construction going on on the square. You probably even asked, "What's going on?"

Currently, the Courthouse Square Committee and the City of Livingston is heading up a project to renovate our historic town square. The current project is to put up "old-style" pole traffic lights and lampposts, much like you see around Gatlinburg, to remove the clutter of wires over hanging the roads, and get them all underground.

The Mayor also plans to start replacing the sidewalks again in the spring. If you've visited any of the stores along the West Side of the square recently, then you've had the chance to walk on one of the new sidewalks already. Furthermore, as soon as the City has finished the renovation, TDOT will be repaving the roadway.
